Themes of Darkness and Death in â€Å"Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night†Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   One of the forms of analysis and criticism that is best used with many works is the analysis of archetypal images.   Many words and objects are images that have much deeper meanings and values than you, as a reader, take at face value.   Many of the words and sentences in Dylan Thomas’ â€Å"Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night† give away the poems underlying theme of darkness and death.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   One of the archetypal images Thomas uses is that of the wise old man.   â€Å"Though wise men at their end know dark is right, because their words forked no lighting they do not go gentle into that good night.†Ã‚   This passage speaks of wise men that fail.   The archetypal definition of the wise man is one who possesses the qualities of insight, wisdom, cleverness, a spiritual principle, and much more.   But aside from the fact that these men are wise, their words still mean nothing.   This passage gives the reader an unmistakable image of darkness in the lives of even those who are wise.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   A second image that portrays this theme is the fourth stanza of the poem.   â€Å"Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, and learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, do not go gentle into that good night.†Ã‚   Here the image of the sun represents the passing of life.   And the men, who were too late in catching the sun and grieved it on its way, are giving us the image that the sun is setting.   Or, as it could be interpreted, the sun for that day is dying.   Here again we have a passage that is giving us a clear image of darkness.   And here, also, we see Thomas referring to death.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   One of the strongest, if not the strongest, images of darkness and death is shown in the last two lines of the poem.   â€Å"Do not go gentle into that good night.   Rage, rage against the dying of the light.†Ã‚   The death of the light here shows us blackness: the ultimate darkness.

Although they both believe that they belong to a traditional group, they are well aware that their group does not incorporate traditional spiritual practice. According to Carol, their religious framework descends from the Gardnerian wicca and was founded in 2004. Like most traditional groups, they reject the prejudice of modern culture and religions that teach intolerance and hate. For Chris and Carol, the interpretation that wicca is a religion incorporating witchcraft is a falsity. My Findings Clearly the wiccan religious movement that existed in different countries after the repeal of the Witchcraft act originated from the pre-christian paganism practice. Guided by their own principles and standards under a non-formal doctrine they have created solidarity among themselves. But without a centralized organization, they have suffered religious denominational separation as conflicts arise regarding their beliefs and ethics. Commonly, as constant arguments evolved, other practitioners tend to separate and convene with other groups who are agreeable to their norms and standards. The agreement on the particular aspect of wiccan practice however upholds against the wrongful persecution and notion that the wiccans practice witchcraft, sorcery and other demonic acts. Wiccans also believe that there is a tremendous need to create a balance between masculine and feminine gender. They worship God, and other Christian teachings and integrate this with the elements of Wicca which includes respect for nature, caring about the environment, celebrating at solstices, equinoxes and harvest festivals. The conflicting beliefs about deity found in the two religions might be difficult as most Christians regard themselves as monotheists and believe in the Holy Trinity, composed of the Father God, the Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The Wiccan belief though is under a duo theistic deity structure of a Goddess and a God according to Rountree (2002). There is no actual variance with each other as long as the Wiccan beliefs is not equated and compared with the conservative Christianity.

Government of India to Ban Tobacco Ads The Government of India pursued to create a mechanism to ban Ads on Tobacco usage. In doing so, it raised ethical concerns and arguments from two different sides, those in favor of and against it. For instance, Suhel Seth, CEO of Equus Advertisement, made a strong differing statement such as â€Å"The ban does not have teeth. It is typical Knee-jerk reaction by any Government to create some kind of popularity for itself.† Mr. Seth thought the Government was not serious enough to enact a ban for Tobacco Ads, but instead that the Government was using it to gain more acceptances. On the other hand, companies as such as ITC Ltd voluntarily withdrew its ads from events regardless â€Å"the legal position of the subject.† They were more open to â€Å"a constructive dialogue† that would lead to the development of a suitable legislation. My suggest is to summarize both the arguments of those who are in support of, as well as of those who are opposed to it, and the confli cts of interest issues that pertain to the Government of India and lastly my own point of view to what I believe governments should do in regards to tobacco ads.
